Nigerian AfroHipHop artist Slim T - real name, Adetayo temilade Okeowo - has fast-risen to position himself as one to definitely watch out for. He first burst onto the scene with the massive “Die Representing” single and has seen his stock rise since then with several massive collaborations with Sammy, Hakym, JBlak, Pope, Eva, Skales of E.M.E, Ex-O, M-flow, MsIye and many more. Music for Slim T has always been more than just realizing a childhood urge to thrill audiences, it’s the place that he goes to be at peace with himself and he’s now been blessed to be able to share that with a much wider audience. Now signed to Trip City Entertainment, Slim T draws his influences from the likes of Jay-Z, M.I, Linkin Park and others.
After the huge success of his two previous singles, the huge posse cut “Die Representing remix” and the excellent Christmas single, “Merry Christmas”, Slim T returned in 2012 – with the hugely massive TinTin-produced “Lagosians”. Following the huge success of his Lagos City anthem “Lagosians” and a brilliant 2012 so far, Slim T became nominated for various titles like the HIPHOP WORLD AWARD’s (also referred to as the HEADIES) ROOKIE OF THE YEAR alongside with Burna Boy, Yung L, Dammy Krane and Saeon, The #DEARARTISTE competition with Aduke, Gaise and NayoSoul where he came 2nd place, and the #FRESHBEATS competition where Slim T emerged as the Winner of The BEAT 99.9FM #Freshbeats for the month of September 2012.
Slim T continued to perform at various events/shows like The Beat FM/Naija FM NYSC Lagos Camp Music Concert, The St Remy Slam Jam Show, The Beat 99.9fm’s Beat Of Lagos Concert, Lagos in my pocket, 2012’s Edition of Nigeria’s Got Talent, Mainland Music festival, Rhythm Unplugged 2012, The Lagos Countdown and so forth, steadily increasing his presence in the Entertainment industry. Slim T also made various appearances like the Big Friday Show with Basketmouth and his guest Rita Dominic, he supported and performed at the “Walk Against Domestic Violence” awareness program and recently performed at the “Industry Nite with Dammy Krane”.
By the End of 2012 he released another single titled “Ojo” (which means Rain in Yoruba language), Featuring MsIye on the vocals and produced by Ex-o.
“Ojo” currently enjoys massive airplays across various radio stations all over Nigeria. In late February 2013 he Released his long awaited video for "Ojo" ( Ojo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2YK9Quxthw ) which features a cameo appearance from "Mflow". The Video was directed by "ICR8MEDIA" . With a strong capture of Nigeria's current state in monochrome visuals the video was quickly accepted by the masses making Slim T "that rapper who speaks for the people". Without wasting too much time, Slim T released "I Don’t Mind" (produced by Tintin), an electric afrobeat sound and "O Bad Gan"(a club banger produced by Mobaz) which features HyperTek's new Superstar " Dammy Krane " in April 2013. "I Don’t Mind and O Bad Gan" are currently dominating the airwaves from city to city in Nigeria. Slim T is currently working on his Highly Anticipated Album.
