"We are the sum total of our experiences." It may be a common trope among the "Tumblr Generation" to which we belong. Often, however, a cliché attains such a status because it is so timeless and universal. This philosophy is the foundation of South of Holly; our music is an expression of our experiences, our successes and failures, and our hopes and fears. We are a group based solidly on our friendship with each other, and our tight, energetic performance reveals the strength of our bond. In this way, our friendship extends to our fanbase, many of whom have been our friends since the beginning. We thrive on the energy we receive from the crowd, and we reflect it back to them in musical form. The diversity of our individual musical influences, from blues and folk, to reggaeton and hiphop, to hardcore and punk, come together to form a broad range of sounds and feels. We strive for authenticity and creativity in our songwriting and stage presence, and we try to top ourselves in everything that we do. Our hard work, while no doubt a labor of love, demonstrates the deep respect we have for our fans, the local music scene, and the community as a whole.
