Fatal Malady began as an experimental project and brainchild of Clinton Rackley (singer) and William Allen (drummer)
Originally, Clinton had planned to play guitar and William as well. After trying out numerous singers and finding no one to drum what they wanted, Clinton decided to give the singing duties a try and William sat down at the drums.
Soon, songs began to emerge and they attracted the attention of a shredding lead guitarist, Sergio Villa.
Sergio brought a new element to the mix, along with bass guitarist, Moises Estrada.
There was a significant language barrier as both Sergio and Moi were born in Mexico and spoke broken English. But music was the language at hand and they all spoke that.
With the addition of Brent Blair at rhythm guitar, the stage was set.
Working through the language barrier was tough, especially when making decisions about the bands look, marketing, and future. But they pushed forward and the boys played show after show…honing their act. It wasn’t long before their trademark skull paint caught fire and fans formed the “Skeleton Death Squad”, a menacing group of loyal supporters.
Most recently, FM performed at Marquee theater with a Perfect Tool to a screaming crowd, and coming up on December 10th, Fatal Malady will share the stage with national act; MUSHROOMHEAD.
This band is definitely what you might call “up and coming”. Their song “Resting Place” took a spot on 98 KUPD’s countdown at #29, and with over 30,000 plays on reverbnation, things are looking good for the Skeleton faced crew.
