Stella and the Fire features the raw, emotive vocals of Sheena Alexis and the the expert production and lead guitar of Mike Trella.
The band was formed in Washington, DC in the spring of 2011 and relocated to Brooklyn, NY in the fall of 2011. They released there self-titled EP in 2012, buoyed by the infectious lead single, "So Nice".
Sheena didn't start small as she wet her feet in the music business. She began her singing career by performing the National Anthem numerous times at Madison Square Garden, before Knicks games, and in Washington DC before Nationals games. She has since honed her powerful vocals skills and sharp lyrical wit.
Mike began his musical career as the architect for one of DC's most enduring and popular rock-soul bands, Politicks. Politicks built a large east-coast following through the 2000s and were finalists on Fox TV''s "Next Great American Band". The band shared the stage with legendary acts, such as Al Green, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, India Arie, Sugarhill Gang, and Blind Melon. Mike is currently working on the score for High Road Media's feature length documentary, "When the Sky Turns Red", in addition to working with Sheena on the first full-length Stella and the Fire cd.
