GroundZero an extremely dynamic Progressive Rock Band that is a fusion Hard Rock, Punk, Rap, Reggea, and Metal. Originally started in 2008 as 45nine, the band went on to win Park Hill South High School's first ever Battle Of The Bands. Shortly after, the band's wheels slowly came to a halt. Lead Vocalist, Dillon Phillips and Guitarist, Miguel Rodriguez then began experimenting with new kinds of music, mainly producing and recording Hip Hop tracks with a strong reggae influence. The two called themselves P.W.N after adding Rapper, Tucker BoKKer Janzing. P.W.N released their first Professionally Recorded Album, "Passion" in the Summer of 2011 and performed at various venues around Kansas City before Miguel and Dillon parted ways with Tucker. The 3 decided it was time to go their separate ways in their music careers; Tucker developed the skill and knowledge to carry on as an independent Hip Hop artist, and Miguel and Dillon were ready to take things back to the drawing board. (what they call GroundZero)
Dillon and Miguel then enrolled into BRC Audio Engineering Institute where they found Bassist/Guitarist, Collin Thomas, and began collaborating. 45nine's Drummer, Tyler Mehaffey, was then brought back into the picture once he heard Miguel and Dillon were back to writing Rock and Punk with a mix of Hip Hop, dubbing GroundZero officially a band!
