The Quarantined is a rock band from Los Angeles, CA. Led by lead singer/guitarist, Sean Martin, drummer Kaspars Grinbergs, and bassist Alex Diaz, who successfully is mixing a wide range of influences like blues, metal, rap, grunge, Classic rock, and Punk. With poetic lyricism and by crossing band centric genres created by Rage Against the Machine (rap and metal), Sublime (Reggae and punk rock), Jimi Hendrix (rock and Psychedelia) and Nirvana (Grunge and popular rock), and armed with a lyrical prowess and a unique story to tell that is unrivaled in Los Angeles, The Quarantined has broken all barriers - all preconceived notions of where rock music can go in a digital era. Nominated by Pure M Magazine as Best International Act 2015. Organic and accessible, defined yet versatile; The Quarantined is exactly what it is, while being exactly not what you expected.
Sean and Kaspars started off working up and refining a unique sound in a friends' home studio, and had many different friends jam with them, on 2nd guitar and bass, to help develop the sound and songs. They recorded a half live track, half studio track EP entitled "Where did you Go?", released independently on CDBaby, and Itunes. Sean, Kaspars, and Alex solidified the lineup as a trio soon after, and began to write and create a full length album. They began crowd testing singles thru internet promotion while playing live around Los Angeles at bars and clubs. In 2014, they stayed busy playing shows at bigger venues like the House of Blues-Sunset and Infusion Lounge @ Universal Citywalk. They hired director John Rael to make their first music video (edited by Alex), and got the attention of Lucent Records, signing a development deal to create, market, promote, and distribute their upcoming EPs as they are released. Both Kaspars and Sean played at Metal Jam 2015, a local benefit concert for Autism Speaks.
Sean, Kaspars, and Alex all come from varying backgrounds, and bring unique influences to the music they make from their wide array of life experiences that comes from all three striving after their goals in their own ways.
Sean served in the US Army Airborne Infantry (with the 3/509th, 4th Brigade, 25th I.D.) from 2004-2007, in Iraq in 2006-2007. Singing at 4 years old and playing guitar at 12, he is also a Musician's Institute graduate with an A.A. in Guitar performance/Music industry studies. He is Executive Producing The Quarantined albums, and is the main writer and content creator for the band.
Kaspars grew up in Latvia under the Iron Curtain. Experiencing brutality from the establishments of government at a young age, he taught himself a ruthless determination to succeed in life, along with how to hit the drums really f*cking hard. He studied languages as well, and is fluent in 5: English, Latvian, German, Swedish, and Russian. He came to Los Angeles to play drums for a living, and played on a national American tour with RelicSeed, a metal band originally from Latvia, thru mid- October in 2014. He also plays with Pain Love n' War, and Slavestate, a grindcore band with Menno Verbaten.
Alex, as well as being a talented bassist and guitarist, is also a photographer, luthier and is working on starting his own personally made guitar and bass crafting business, making each instrument from scratch and by hand from unique woods. Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, he has been known to travel the world, and is getting into film editing.
The Quarantined is working with Producer/Engineer/Musician Charlie Waymire of Ultimate Studios Inc., on a 5 song EP called "Antiquate Hate".
