Started in the fall of 1995 by 5 high-school friends in NJ, Forthright went on to record an 11 song album (that was out of their budget) and played a string of shows at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park supporting bands such as Earth Crisis, Candiria, Hatebreed, Skarhead, One King Down, and Gutwrench before disbanding in 1999.
10 years later, Paul, Vinnie, and Pete were drinking beers in Paul's backyard in Brooklyn and the old "remember when" conversation turned to Forthright. Before the night (and the 30 block) were finished, the plan was set to begin re-recording the old record that no one was happy with at Pete's home studio. Two phone calls later the plan was cemented and drum tracks started going down the following week. As the recording process went on, the project took on a life of its own and new eyeball melting harmonies were written, guitars got tuned so low that the brown sound happened almost every other note, and five-string bass and blast-beats were introduced just in case anyone was left with clean underwear.
The fruits of those recording sessions are scheduled to be released in some sort of listenable format in early 2012.
Let the auditory violence begin...again.
