Tom Hastings, a second generation drummer and son of a big band drummer, took his first drum lessons in 1956 at age seven. He started playing professionally at age fourteen.
Tom learned the music business by playing for a lot of hardnosed seasoned professionals who taught him well. One of Tom’s most treasured music moments came when he shared the stage with and received a compliment from a little known, at the time, guitar player named Jimi Hendricks.
Over the years Tom has played many genres of music which has served to make him a versatile, finesse style drummer. Tom said “I am blessed to have played with many truly great musicians and The Robert Dey Band has two of the best I’ve ever played with. Bob has talent oozing from every pore in his body and Ed is a wild man who drives me to play my best just to keep up with him.”
