Tim McHugh is a Seattle-based blues, jazz, folk, americana and New Orleans piano player/guitar and singer/songwriter. He fell in love for the vintage swing sounds of of 20's through the 40's and other inspirations of his playing and composition include elements of ragtime blues and jazz, gospel, latin, and R and B. Also a big fan of 1950's country, which to him, was the earlier days music-branded-folk. Hank Williams, for him, was that period's Bob Dylan.
He plays mostly his own songs and also has a big set-list of covers, especially from the American songbook.
McHugh rarely plays his music the same way twice, as he puts it, .." keeps me on my toes, so to speak; alert to the possibilities in the moment. I think people like that and seem to feel that".
