Jefferson Thompson is a singer/songwriter, producer and live sound engineer. Jefferson has been singing since the age of 7, starting out as a member of the Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel. By the time he was in junior high school he was writing music and experimenting with different sounds and genres. As he got older, his love of music continued to grow and he started to arrange and produce music. By 2013, he was certain that he wanted to make music his professional career.
In 2014, Jefferson enrolled at Arapahoe Community College as a student in the Sound Engineering program which includes classes in audio production, music theory and live sound. While singing and producing are his true passions, as he moved through the program, he discovered a new talent and passion for the art of live sound and decided to focus on this aspect of the music business. In the summer of 2015, Jefferson had an opportunity to put his skills to use as he worked as an intern at the Evergreen Jazz Festival in Evergreen Colorado. He mixed for several well known Jazz bands such as the Queen City Jazz Band, Carl Sonny Leyland and After Midnight. This experience inspired his awesome arrangement "Reeds Seven". Jefferson has successfully completed the Sound Engineering program in May, 2016 with an average GPA of 3.5. Jefferson plans to continue his education, working towards a Bachelor's degree in Sound Engineering.
Throughout his music career, Jefferson has performed at many large events and venues. In July of 2014, he performed at the grand opening ceremony of Union Station in Denver, Colorado, where more than 5,000 people were in attendance. In December of 2015, he performed in Beaver Creek, Colorado with the Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel at the Lighting of the Tree celebration, where nearly 7,000 people were in attendance. Most recently, Jefferson performed at the Crossroads theater in Denver, Colorado, where his own music was featured at an event called Life Alive.
Jefferson is currently working tirelessly mixing, mastering, arranging, producing and engineering his own singles including “Insane Love,” “Camping Love,” “Color Machine,” and “Accidentals.” He strives to make music that is unique, creative, positive and inspiring. Jefferson was born, raised and presently lives in Denver, Colorado.
