Janette is an acoustic and electric bassist and jazz pianist. Since her first piano lesson at age 6, she has been immersed in the music world. She began with a solid grounding in classical piano, and then spent many years playing keyboards and electric bass in cover bands on both the east and west coast.
Of note was her involvement with the popular San Diego based band '2NZ' that played a variety of Latin, blues, pop, and jazz. She also performed for various music theater productions, including performances of "Sassy' with the Ira Aldridge Repertory Group.
As a student, she was a member of the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra, Grossmont Jazz Ensemble, and the Cal State Long Beach early music Collegium ensemble, as well as numerous jazz ensembles.
As a graduate of the Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. she has a deep interest and love for many genres of music, especially jazz and the jazz standards.
Following graduation, Janette played with several ensembles that included jazz trio and quartet work for private parties and clubs, the Hollywood Wind Ensemble, and a 17-piece big band based in Long Beach.
Since July, 2012, after returning to the San Diego area, Janette is involved with various groups, She played many private parties with the Edelweiss band during the band's final 12 Octoberfest season, played many jam sessions to get to know musicians in San Diego, played with the Buena Vista SoCal group performing Cuban sons, boleros, cha cha cha's. Recent projects are the Uptown Rhythm Makers, a trad jazz group, and StraightUp jazz, a jazz and jazz standards group as well as sub work.
Janette is currently taking a break from playing out and focusing on learning jazz piano and other genres, and is planning on actively playing out on piano the beginning of 2016.
