Bringing you ass-haulin' New Hampshire acid metal since 2011!
Yeehaw Jihad was formed in the dark woods of Nelson, New Hampshire in the spring of 2011. Guitarist, Geoff Williams had been put in touch with Tom Tolman (bass) and Josh Turnbull (drums) through a mutual friend and neighbor. Tolman and Turnbull had already been playing together in bands for years. The trio connected immediately and coming from a small town with a rich contra dance heritage, decided they needed to rock hard and loud.
They spent most of their first year writing songs and finding their sound. They recorded a professional demo of their first completed song which helped them to branch out and get their first few gigs that winter.
They have managed to hone a uniquely vintage hard rock sound that has elements of punk, metal and stoner rock while never being exclusively one or the other.
They have been compared to bands such as Black Sabbath, Clutch, Led Zeppelin, Corrosion Of Conformity and The Misfits.
2012 and 2013 saw the trio branching out in their local area and making strong bonds with similar hard rock/metal bands. They've played in Vermont, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts. Since 2012 they have performed every year at the Keene Music Festival in Keene, New Hampshire and in 2014, also played the 3rd annual Charlestown, New Hampshire Music Fest with Boston band, Stillwell Angel.
Yeehaw Jihad spent most of 2014 recording and producing their first full-length album, SONGS ABOUT ROUGH SEX AND VIOLENT DEATHS which was released on January 4th.
