Smooth Urban Jazz Saxophonist
I would like to introduce you to saxophonist and vocalist Carlos Cannon, who is one of the hottest sax player around who introduces a new sound of today's genre of great music. Mr. Cannon recently released his third CD album, Steppin’ Up The Game. It consists of R&B, smooth urban jazz with soulful vocals.

At the age of 12, Mr. Cannon started playing the bass guitar in neighborhood bands and in high school. Inspired by the late Grover Washington Jr., Carlos Cannon eagerly picked up the alto saxophone and became the first chair player in the Paul Robeson High School jazz band in Chicago. Carlos Cannon went on to major in music performance at Illinois State University where he formed his own jazz band and took first place in the state jazz band competition. He later transferred to Roosevelt University and continued his musical studies.
Carlos' musical influences include legend, Cannonball Adeley, Grover Washington, Jr., Gerald Albright, David Sanborn, and Kenny G. Carlos credits these icons that have inspired his musical development journey and make him the great saxophonist, producer and songwriter he is today.
Carlos Cannon has three CDs as a smooth jazz artist, his debut CD, “In the Name of Love,” or “Chicago’s Finest,” his second CD, “Tak’N It Smooth,” and his current CD, “Steppin’ Up The Game.” From his first CD to his third album show the growth of his contemporary smooth jazz stylistic playing ability to his excellent song writing skills. Carlos Cannon has found his place among the forefront of R&B and the top smooth urban jazz artists.
Mr. Cannon is known for his outstanding, entertaining performances and laid back, sensual style. Carlos certainly knows how to "bring it", going out into his audiences melodically playing his saxophone, captivating the crowd to standing ovations.
