The Dirty Bourbon Band began early in 2010, with vocalist Ethan Gordan and drummer Derek Early. Small jam sessions turned into performances in smaller, local venues. Over the course of the next year, Ethan and Derek would jam with friends or play alone.
In the early summer of 2011, Ethan and Derek placed an ad on craigslist looking for a guitar player. Jeremy Coates answered, and turned out to be a perfect fit for the group. Soon afterwards, Derek's high school pal and bassist Huston Hamm hopped on board and the band was formed.
The last two years has seen the band go from practicing in a barn to playing every weekend all over eastern Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. They've shared the stage with the John Joiner Band, Jesse Harris and the Gypsy Sparrows, Midnight River Choir, the Bo Phillips Band, and many others. With their first album in the works, they don't plan to stop doing what they love any time soon.
