Errichetta Underground started in 2008 by playing in the streets and squares of Rome's historical center. It was (and still is) formed by a polish immigrant, a young jazz virtuoso, an emerging italian film director, their respective brothers and friends.
Deeply grounded in the traditional repertoires of klezmer and balkan music, the richness and originality of Errichetta springs from the research in linking those vocabularies to the various musical backgrounds of its members (contemporary classical, avant-guarde, jazz, folk) and from an incredible performance energy.
That is Errichetta's main alchemy: a huge expressive power, a love for risk and musical acrobatics, and the joy of making the whole audience, whether street pedestrians or elegant music scholars, dance till the morning!
Our repertoire is extremely versatile, shows range from open-air theatrical performances to chamber-like concerts.
Please check us out and have us come play for you!We usually play in the streets, clubs ad theaters of Rome where our music is always welcome, maybe because we love fun, rhythm and improvisation.
