Sugar & the Hi Lows… a brand new collaboration from singer/songwriters Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup along with a band of Nashville’s finest musicians. Together, these artists weave their hypnotic, soulful vibe and catch the ear with a playful, infectious hook. In their first project, making it’s debut this winter, Sugar & the Hi Lows features melodies that masterfully merge Americana’s rock and soul heritage with the band’s own unmatched, fresh sound. Lyrically, they channel a playful promise and familiar acceptance of life’s ups and downs and still remain firmly rooted in the reality of the here and now.
Trent and Amy met while co-writing their individual acclaimed solo projects, and they quickly felt a vibrant synergy. After the critical success of their duets, “Odds of Being Alone”, (featured on One Tree Hill, World of Jenks, and more), and “Love You Good” (featured on Grey’s Anatomy), these two artists so enjoyed writing and performing together that they couldn’t resist a band effort. Only two rules applied: the project had to be effortless, and it had to be FUN.
Into this creative playground, Sugar & the Hi Lows was born.
