Alonza is an twenty two year old American, country singer, guitarist, songwriter, composer and recording artist who can remember wanting nothing more than to make music since the tender age of three. Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, Alonza grew up listening to a variety of artists across all music genres including that of Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Michael Bolton, Dolly Parton, Prince and Martina McBride to name a few. She began song-writing at eight years old, and is still going strong; having written and composed a multitude of original tunes. Alonza's performance experiences while growing up include singing in churches, plays and talent shows. Her self-taught acoustic guitar skills add to her unique style of music that ranges from country to folk, blue grass, pop and soul. Alonza's emotion-filled songs carry deep meaning that others can relate to because of the life situations and issues they share with her through her lyrics. Careful listening and an open mind are required when listening to her work of art. Alonza's music composition crosses several genres; but, country music holds the key to her heart. Through her music, Alonza wants to break cultural barriers and bridge the gaps that limit how far we can go. Some of her community efforts and outreach include assisting seniors with dementia, feeding the hungry and homeless, hosting youth sports events; and, creating alternatives for troubled youth in gang involvement. Alonza is currently recording country music in Nashville, Tennessee. She currently resides in Roxboro, North Carolina.
