GIMM+ICKY, the Nashville-based pop/rap duo has just released their debut single “Shake That” alongside a lyric video accompanied by an EDM remix package from prominent artists like JUMPSMOKERS, PAPERCHA$ER, DJ LYNNWOOD, DIRTY FREQS, MOORE, STR8JACKIT, and FELLI FEL. Jeff Garrison and Tripp Weir make up this lively duo. Both with a past as solo artists, it wasn’t until they combined their talents that the resulting synergy brought GIMM+ICKY to life.
Formed in late 2011, the collaboration has recently gained popularity and is selling out shows at various Nashville venues. The duo has already had notable television placements with their songs on ABC network, E!News, and the NFL network.
Both members have an undeniable presence on stage that becomes evident from the moment their show starts. As a trained actor, Tripp Weir is no stranger to performing. Adding the rap element to the band, his energy brings their show to life. About GIMM+ICKY, Tripp says, “I finally feel like I’m being myself with my music which is a very liberating experience.” When asked, Tripp says he started making music “mainly because it made me dance,” and that is exactly what he does to the audience.
Born into a musical family, there is no doubt that Jeff Garrison has a passion for his art. His distinct acoustic guitar playing and vocals are unmistakable. He has played multiple instruments since an early age, yet considers himself first and foremost to be an entertainer. “As long as I can entertain people, I will be a happy camper.” Those who watch Jeff perform agree that he is one of the most high-energy performers they have ever seen.
