The Apollo 15 fell from the sky while "What's Going On" plays over the airwaves. The year was 1971, Jim Morrison drew his last breath and Brian Maloney took his first. Music is in his blood - sharing lineage with musicians Frank Maloney, Crystal Gayle and Loretta Lynn. In 1975 he was seen standing on a bench instantly drawn in by "Money" performed by the infamous Pink Floyd. At that moment music became as important as breath.
Similar to many other musicians, Brian cut his teeth in the church. He sang in choirs and performed solo. This lead to him collaborating with other musicians and writing his own material by the age of 14. Years later - it was 1992 - he formed his first full band Occidental Ox [http://www.angelfire.com/in2/occidentalox/]. They were a group out of Alton, IL, and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Judge Nothing, Autumn Clock, Inch rist, as well as many others.
Soon after the time came for a new project. Brian joined forces with William Moxham, David Johnston and Ben Patel forming The Simple Story. Even though it was an intense year of solid recording, they only had the opportunity to play on stage together very few times before finding themselves on different paths.
Brian Maloney is currently touring in Ireland.
