Just A Mirage formed in August 2011 after the local band Deus Mortum went on hiatus, which contained the members Sean and Talon.
We have since released a demo consisting of 4 songs. Vine Street, Savor, Alchemy, Bingo. Just A Mirage was formed with the goal of Progressive Metal in a style of Between The Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, Animals as Leaders, etc. But, this proved to be a bit ambitious and the debut songs seemed to be more in the Experimental Metal region. The song "Savor" appearing to be a poppy fusion of Jazz and Metal. "Vine Street" has elements of Pop Punk and Metalcore. "Alchemy" is like a fusion of Thrash and Metalcore, potentially with some Melodic Death Metal thrown in. "BINGO" is a silly Death Metal song. " Out of our unrecorded songs; "Delights and Screaming Kites" is a somewhat djenty progressive song, that incorporates elements of Metalcore, Blues, and Death Metal, "Like Clockwork" is the hardest to describe, essentially it is a soft proggy song sort of in the vein of Tool.
We are currently in the process of writing a Concept Album that will have between 8 and 10 songs, the tentative track list currently consists of;
1)The Abysmal Descent
2)Sea of Stars (working title)
3)Like Clockwork (pt 1)
5)The Crater (working title)
6)Mechanism (Like Clockwork pt 2)
7)The Lights and Screaming Kites
8)The Great Misdirect (BTBAM Tribute song working title).
This concept album will have a bit of a scifi theme with lots of the music having influence from "Djent," Metalcore, and Deathcore. Some of the songs taking influence from progressive metal, jazz, and blues. It should be a delight for all of our fans to see the transition we have made.
