JD Priest career began back in the early eighties, singing and playing guitar for a number of Southern California bands.
After serving a tour of duty in the United States Air Force JD moved back to California and began working with the Americana group Acoustic Connection where he made his national television debut on the Nashville network performing on the Charlie Daniels’ Talent Round-up.
The National Academy of songwriters also recognized JD’s blazing talents and invited him and his band to perform for the Acoustic Underground and Billy Block’s Western Beat where they were nominated for acoustic artist of the year featuring music by JD Priest.
In the mid-nineties JD struck out on his own and started his own band. He has since performed all over the country and shared the stage with such well-known acts as John Waite (Babys), Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Micky Thomas and Starship, the Calling, Jimmy Van Zant, Dan Seals and many more. He has also performed on stage with percussionist Paulo Matioli. Now JD has a full schedule playing a various venues in Southern California.
