2 chicks at the same time, what more could you want?
Lazy Janes is comprised of Elaine Stapleton and Carrie Lynn Grayson.
The duo formed in September 2011, when the girls met at an open mic night. While the original intent was to collaborate for a charity event, they discovered that their shared easy going nature and musical interests created a unique style that appealed to everyone that saw them perform. The girls were having fun as well, and Lazy Janes was born.
Elaine has been playing guitar since she was 12 years old, and has many years under her belt as a performer. She plays guitar, bass, sings, as well as all of the recording and engineering for the band. Elaine brings many years of songwriting experience to the table, has released two albums with another band, as well as an album as a solo artist under the pseudonym Alex Winters.
Carrie Lynn was immersed in music as a young child. She joined her first band at 19, and has been performing ever since. She previously recorded and released an international single, Dry Ice. More recently, her focus has been on songwriting, new guitar techniques, harmonica and percussion.
When asked about their sound, the girls will tell you, “We write what we know, and that resonates with our fans”. Seeing the Lazy Janes live is more than just listening to a band play. The chemistry between the girls, and the way they draw the audience in and make them a part of the fun, is a truly unique experience.
