In the late 1980’s, fate brought together guitarist and singer Preston Sims and singer John Gunther as part of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Agape Music worship team. Years later, a mutual respect between these two musicians remained. In the fall of 2010, they were attending an all-church retreat in the mountains of San Bernardino when John sat Preston down to listen to him play harp (note for note, I might add) to recordings of Eric Clapton. The two got together on weekends starting that fall to trade their favorite tunes and try some out. It turned out that they had the same love of clever songwriters and heart-felt blues tunes. Later, Preston’s old high school buddy Jimmy Jonas joined the pair on electric guitar, and shortly thereafter John recruited Jerry Tucker on bass and Jerry brought in Saxon Rawlings on drums. The final piece of the puzzle, the illusive female vocalist, is filled by the sultry bluesy voice and sweet harmonies of Stephanie Wright. The rest, as they say, is history
