The Branchfield/Schroeder Duo is a classical flute and piano duo that formed in 2008 at New York University. Seann Branchfield, composer and pianist, is a native of Newport, Oregon; Nicole Schroeder, flutist, hails from Reading, Pennsylvania. The two have done numerous performances together not only as a classical duo, but as a rock duo and as part of the symphonic rock band Symfinity, which showcases Seann’s original songs for rock band and orchestra. The duo recently recorded Gateway, a classical pop album of original compositions set for released in September 2011 with global launch in 2012. Symfinity’s debut album Intangible Dreams is also being released in 2012.
Seann is a composer of several musical genres ranging from rock to classical, often blending sounds from various styles. He holds masters degrees from New York University (M.M. Music Composition: Scoring for Film and Multimedia) and City College of New York (M.A. in Music). Having studied with David Del Tredici at The City College of New York, Seann also does professional orchestral and string arranging for musicians and bands, including the New York-based artists Symfinity, Decembers Fall and Mike Higbee.
Seann also enjoys performing as a pianist and oboist, and has sung, played guitar, bass guitar, and violin in various ensembles.
Nicole enjoys performing in a wide range of musical styles, from classical to show tunes to gospel to rock. She has played in pit orchestras for numerous productions in her native Pennsylvania, often doubling on other woodwind instruments. Nicole also performs with The SymphoNY Chorus, a New York-based Christian choir and orchestra, and is principal flutist of the newly-formed Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra in Tunkhannock, PA.
In addition to performing, Nicole has a private studio near Reading, PA. She holds a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Elizabethtown College.
The two recently embarked on their first tour on the west coast in promotion of their debut album, Gateway.
