The Harris Collection is a blues-rock group based out of Davenport, IA. The band was formed by Harris brothers Steve, Shawn, and Ryan in 2009. The Harris Collection has been performing at bars, private parties, and festivals since 2010. Over the last few years the band lineup has changed up and now is stronger than ever. Still including Steve and Shawn on guitar and vocal, in early 2014 the band was joined by veteran of drums L.C. Johnson. Johnson spent his younger years playing throughout the U.S. and overseas. L.C. performed with legends such as The Dells, Bobby Womack and many more artists. . Since the start of 2014 The Harris Collection have been making achievements and was featured in the Q.C. Times in the edition printed on 1/02/14. Since spring of 2014 the groups upcoming events have been promoted on St. Ambrose's KALA 88.5 fm. WQAD 8 featured the band for the Studio 8's featured artist of the week on 5/09/14. The band competed and advanced in the first round of the 2014 Iowa Blues Challenge. Vintage Sound 93.1fm featured The Harris Collection for an in studio performance on 5/12/14 and currently have a song playing on the station. The group is known for performing powerful versions of classic blues covers and new original material as well. Band members are heavily influenced by many blues legends such as Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, and Howlin’ Wolf. More specifically, influenced by dominating guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and B.B. King. It’s evident that psychedelic rock has also made an impact on the groups sound. The Harris Collection has been very successful in attracting younger fans to the great American art form called the Blues. The band continues to gain new fans daily and is currently rising on Reverbnation.com blues charts for the Quad Cities area. To date, The Harris Collection has been booked recording artists such as The Giving Tree Band, Kris Lager Band, and Gloria Hardiman.
