Blending together different elements of metal, hardcore, and rock, Light Her Up began in mid-2011 with founding guitarists Niles Wolfchief and Jared Juan writing songs while searching for like minded musicians to complement the sound they envisioned. Finding these like minds in bassist Robert Lagunas, drummer Ronald Galvez, and vocalist Ryan Rosekrans near the end of 2011, the band further developed their music and began playing shows in the Tucson area.
In early 2012, the band entered Xenocide Studios and recorded a four song demo with Craig Artz. Once this demo recording was completed and released, Light Her Up gained a wider fan base in Tucson and added more and more shows to their schedule. In April 2012, Sonny Miles was brought into the band as a third guitarist, adding a new element to the sound. Securing a spot on the Headbang for the Highway Battle of the Bands in Tucson on June 23rd, 2012, Light Her Up delivered their best performance yet and in a true story of the underdog triumphing over the odds, they were awarded a spot on the locals stage at the All Stars Tour stop in Phoenix.
Gaining an even wider audience after these two events, the band continued to write songs and get their name out to the world through the handing out of demos around town, playing bigger shows as an opener for national acts, and tireless online promotion. Around this same time, Niles Wolfchief decided to pursue a different musical path and amicably parted ways with the band in the latter half of 2012.
Continuing on just as strong as ever, the band is now looking to take the next step. They are currently booking shows and developing new material for the future. Planning to enter the studio in 2013, Light Her Up is looking forward to bringing a new set of powerful, crushing songs to your ears.
