Mark Eisenman Trio consists of Steve Wallace(b) and John Sumner(d), it's been together since 1987. In addition to being a really grooving stand alone trio with an extensive repertoire, influenced by Phineas Newborn, Red Garland, Tommy Flanagan, McCoy Tyner, Hank Jones. We are especially good at the art of accompanying visiting jazz greats. This trio has been the rhythm section for artists as diverse as Ernestine Anderson as well as, Barney Kessel, Art Farmer, Lew Tabackin, Anne-Hampton Calloway, P.J. Perry and many others.
I also do interesting Instructional Clinics, like the the Yamaha Piano Series at The Barrie Jazz Fest, where I (and the trio) have done concerts featuring the music of Ellington, Bud Powell, Bill Evans, and Earl Hines.
Mark Eisenman Quintet features the same rhythm section as above with the added horns of John Macleod and Pat Labarbera. I'm sure I don't need to tell you about them. Most of the material are original compositions by me.
The Mark Eisenman/Chase Sanborn Duo. Both players are engaging performers and clinicians that have a real simpatico with each other musically, and with audiences. (CD Included)
I have also recorded with Jimmy Cobb (yes, from Kind of Blue) , The CD is called Sweet and Lovely and have played a week long TRIO gig with Mr. Cobb.
