The Jerrys / Bio

The Jerrys, a British-influenced guitar-pop band from Chicago, Illinois, are the sounds of Jerry Schwartz, who writes, plays, sings, and produces their music. Since their first CD was released in 2001, The Jerrys have continued to release original indie pop confections on a regular basis. The Jerrys are the jangly whim of one man--a whim with an edge and a sound of its own.

The Jerrys' debut album, Pop Go The Jerrys, contained 14 songs, and listeners' comparisons ranged from Boyce and Hart to The Who to Matthew Sweet. After another CD--Jerryrigged--and several Internet singles, Best of The Jerrys was compiled and released in 2006, becoming the first music by The Jerrys to be featured on iTunes and CD Baby.

After What the World Could Use a Lot More Of (2009) and Let's Groove (2011), The Jerrys abandoned the album format for new music releases, and in 2012, they released their last album. Back in the Day featured one new song (the title track) plus the twelve songs that were not included on Best of The Jerrys. With that release, all 42 tracks ever released by The Jerrys became available digitally.

In 2013, The Jerrys released their first-ever iTunes single, "New Day," and there's more music on the way. Stay tuned! This is one band that won't be breaking up anytime soon.
