"Oh look I'm just a trombone player that likes to dabble in other instruments and write songs. These were recorded using digital 8 track machines in various bedrooms and caravans, except for "Stop the Ride" which was recorded at Range Recordings by Bruce Vickery, somewhere west of Grafton NSW. I have also been Snart Gorkling, Vulcan Conray, and once I was just plain Glort. Dave Jeffree did all the mastering on these tracks, and I have him to thank for being up on this site at all. I can play the bagpipes but don't."
Or . . . .
Glenn Keemar is a very talented and complicated individual, just when you think you've got him all figured out and you have grasped the length and breadth of his immense range of skills he does something completely different and surprises you all over again! Glenn grew up learning to play amongst other things the ukele, the Bagpipes, and the trombone.Since then he has become proficient at playing most of the instruments you can imagine. He is a formally trained musician who has worked in such diverse outfits as Brass bands,The Royal Australian Navy Band,Jazz bands, folk outfits, indeed just about every sort of musical enterprise, although he has spent most of his professional life as a solo artist. He is also a brilliant and original songwriter whose songs seem to encapsulate the "human condition" in a way that appears to describe us all at one time in our lives or another.Add to this his extraordinary arranging and producing skills and you are starting to get a picture of a very well rounded musician indeed. There is also Glenn's talent at inventing and making instruments as well as the fact that Glenn is a very experienced music teacher who spends part of his time working for the AUSTRALIAN CHILDRENS MUSIC FOUNDATION teaching underprivileged kid's at detention centers.I havent finished. . . Glenn is also a sculptor, philosopher and author. He holds a degree in the arts and is also a passionate animal rights activist (Listen to Pet Food) he is also passionate about the sciences, our planet and everything it contains. It would be fair to compare Glenn to the " renaissance man" of old and having known him for over 27 years I can heartily recommend both the man and his music to you.
It has been my privilege also to master the works you are hearing for Glenn and as I was mastering these incredible songs it occured to me that the world could really do with hearing the messages contained therein and after listening I am sure you will agree.
