Champ Devere is a Hard Country band led by a duo of brothers (Jubi and Son) whose roots are in small-town Oklahoma. Their concerts have been described as "a whoopin' hollerin', guitar gunnin', piano pumpin' show full of Rockin' Honky-Tonk Blues," & have landed them numerous television & radio appearances, including the hit reality show "Can You Duet" on CMT.
They have performed as the opening act for numerous country music stars including Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, The Bellamy Brothers, Sammy Kershaw, & Joey + Rory, & have had their original song, "Oklahoma Yeah," featured weekly on the University of Oklahoma Football Pre-Game Show. Additionally, their "T-Row in the Morning Show Theme Song" can be heard daily on "The Voice of Sooner Football" Toby Rowland's radio show.
Influenced by a wide array of artists (from Jerry Lee Lewis, Roger Miller, & the Beatles, to Muddy Waters & the Violent Femmes), their music is a one-of-a-kind blues, punk, country, rock'n'roll mix that endears them to a wide variety of audiences.
And their unique live show, featuring catchy, eclectic songwriting, quick wit, & crowd interaction, guarantees a tremendous time had by all! For Booking information, please call 405.863.9200.
"THE ORIGIN OF CHAMP DEVERE"
Not so very long ago, a record store was hit by a magic tornado. Mystical violent winds caused all the records to spin same-ul-timeously, at an incredible rate. The resulting explosion was cataclysmic, yet miraculous. One record survived. It was a freshly-formed triple-album, somehow consisting of bits and pieces of all the other records in the store -- Blues, Punk, Country, Rock, and various zz. This vinyl album was discovered by the wandering brothers, Jubi and Son. The label read only, "Champ Devere." The album was subsequently destroyed for your protection. This is the interpretation of the content of that album.
