Hard Stone Harlequins
Hard Stone Harlequins is a Madrid-based Rock N' Roll band created in 2011 by Dany Sanders, Sergi Free Bird, Joan Herrera, and Anthony Stephen. Guitarist Camilo Lopez joined the band at the end of 2011.
It all begain when bassist Sergi (Uno, Strokadellic, Ironica) contacted Dany Sanders, who was playing with Diosa Blanca at that time, and invited him to take part in a new project that was more along the lines of hard rock. Anthony Stephen soon joined having already played with Sergi during their Strokadellic days, and Dany recruited his old bandmate, Joan Herrera (Maleza Divina, Otranation, Deergoat). In the end and after playing with several other rhythm guitarists, Camilo Lopez came aboard full time and has been an integral part of the band ever since.
After locking the current lineup into place, HSH worked on the riffs and melodies for their first demo, which was recorded in the summer of 2011 and contains the following songs:
Fuck you on the Floor
Burning All Night
On My Way
Toward the end of 2011 and for most of 2012, The Harlequins have mostly been playing the local circuit with some of the best rock n' roll bands in and around Madrid, demonstrating their ferocious attitude on stage and delivering performances on par with a kickass rock band that lives to play -- as many critics and local journalists agree.
The band's style is classified as 70s rock/80s hard rock -- heavily influenced by bands like Guns N' Roses, LA Guns, Deep Purple, The Cult, Led Zeppelin, and many more.
