Karen Cuthrell, otherwise known to children as Miss KK, is the founder of The Feeling Friends™, an entertainment and educational company that focuses on children’s emotional development success in the early grades.
Nineteen years ago, she co-created The Feeling Friends as a response to her daughter’s need to express her feelings openly and honestly. Under Karen’s care, each Feeling Friend has evolved as a loving guide and conduit for enabling children to share emotions.
With her books, music, engaging characters, interactive tools, and live performances, Miss KK has transformed the lives of thousands of children. Last school year she conducted an educational research pilot program at Kimberley Park Elementary School where children’s feelings vocabularies increased from 3.2 words to 16.9 words. Her program positively impacted the children at Kimberley Park, as well as staff and parents. Karen is a trailblazer in emotional development for children. Her message is simple…LOVE is the most important Feeling!
To date, The Feeling Friends program has completed a series of 26 books, 2 CDs, and 13 plush toy prototypes, and Karen has received numerous book awards from industry experts. Her efforts have also been applauded in the educational community, where plans are in development to make The Feeling Friends curriculum and activities available on-line to teachers, students, and parents. Karen is grateful that she is living her passion and her assignment from God.
