When I was a kid I started playing music but I was never very good at it. I think I became frustrated or maybe I was just lazy, but it never lasted very long. I decided later, with aged wisdom, that I would rather play poorly then not at all. I like playing music and I like signing songs. We should all do things that make us happy.
I have played percussion with bands in Wyoming and Taiwan, but I think I got hooked on hand drumming while living in Australia. I bought myself a guitar for my 30th birthday and that is when I started recording songs on my computer. My most recent toy is a mandolin that I just bought in the spring of 2011 and I am really enjoying it.
I have used Audacity to record for the last 4 years but might need to try Garage Band now that I have a Mac. I have probably recorded over 40 songs but almost all of them are covers. Most of the time I record alone, although I did record a bunch of tracks in 2009 with my buddy Sean. I have a few original songs and that I was I will upload first.
I don’t really play in public often but I do play in parking lots, beside rivers and around campfires. I also like using my guitar as a teaching tool and I have played with students all over the world.
