The Fishermen Band / Bio

Brother duo Linds and Flip Hough have been writing music together since childhood, singing harmonies over their original songs that blended with their very different styles. After their first recording “Dream” went #1 all time on GarageBand.com in 2000, The Fishermen Band became a Hollywood sensation overnight. Selling out hotspots like The Whiskey A Go Go, Viper Room, and the Troubadour, playing alongside bands like Maroon 5, Allrise, Raining Jane, and Pseudopod. In 2004 they signed to American Soul Records and moved operations to Austin, TX releasing their first EP “Invisible Thickness” with infamous Boulder, Co music producer Pat Lee. In Austin, the band linked arms with The Grooveline Horns( of Jason Mraz) and played weekly shows at Austins famed Lucky Lounge. They also played South By Southwest, opened for the likes of John Popper of Blues Traveller, The Charlie Daniels Band, and made it to the top 5 of Season 1 of the FameCast Music Competition; performing on a global live feed from the FameCast World Stage. In 2009 The Fishermen Band self released their first full length album “Vision” with Ambiance Recording Studios and east coast Music Producer, Josh Insel, and relocated to Washington DC. Since “Vision's” release, you'd be hard pressed to find a harder working band. The Fishermen Band really started to take shape in 2011 with the additions of Brian Waitzman on Bass and Andre Leonard on Keys. The band booked for 2 years in advance and stormed through a rigorous performance schedule, selling self made CD's and T Shirts, and touring as much as possible.
They have played over 1,000 shows in the DC/Baltimore area alone, at popular clubs like Rams Head Live, Baltimore Sound Stage, Growlers, The Bullpen, Nationals Stadium Fairgrounds, Jammin Java,Staccatto Music Hall, DC9, Velvet Lounge, Acre121, and Gypsy Sally's- They can also be seen playing in Los Angeles at clubs like The Mint, and Dan Akroyd's House of Blues in Hollywood, and in New York at the Parkside Lounge in SoHo. Adding the talents of Drummer Chris Compton, Bassist Brian Waitzman, Sax phenom Michael Vitale, Grammy nominated Keyboardist Andre Leonard, and sit ins : Drummer Jerome Maffeo(Jimis Chicken Shack), and Guitarist Andy Westcott(Homemade Wine USA)- has made the Hough brothers and The Fishermen Band a versatile, fun, and unforgettable live show experience!
