New Guitar Summit Featuring Jay Geils-Howard Alden and Gerry Beaudoin / Bio

New Guitar Summit is a guitar based jazz group led by award winning jazz guitarist Gerry Beaudoin. Founded in 1997, it's original members were Gerry Beaudoin, legendary guitarist Jay Geils and blues icon Duke Robillard. They quickly became known for their tight three part harmonies, musical interaction together, and their easy camaraderie on stage. They toured the USA and Canada and released three CD's and a DVD to critical acclaim. One a tour of Canada they were invited by Canadian rock and roll guitar legend Randy Bachman to perform on his new recording Jazz Thing Two: Featuring Randy Bachman and New Guitar Summit. Soon a who's who of the jazz guitar world had guested with the New Guitar Summit, including jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli and his son John, Frank Vignola, Doug Bell from the nouveau swing band, Bellevue Cadillac and Howard Alden. After three CD's and a live DVD Duke left to pursue other interests and Howard Alden, who had guested with them numerous time, replaced Duke as a permanent member of the group.
