Born the son of two Marines, to say that the Philadelphia bred MC Armani Blade is tough would be an understatement. One of few gay rappers on the Philadelphia hip-hop scene, this up and coming MC has more than a little to prove. Tired of the stereotypical fakery and satyrical B.S. that is the majority of the gay hip hop scene, Armani Blade seeks to be one of the few and the proud who can do more than shine a dim light on what gay rappers can offer. Armani only toyed with rhymes when he was in high school. It wasn’t until a few relatives and close friends made him aware that he could rap, that Armani Blade began writing rhymes taking part in more than enough rap battles. He created a name for himself among the high school crowd. Only to put down his rhyme book when he graduated. After a short lived enlistment in the United States Marine Corps along with other life shaping lessons and experiences, Armani Blade more than promises to break the stereotype of what a “hip-hop homo” is supposed to be. Set to debut his, currently in progress, “No Homo” EP, Armani Blade plans to not oly introduce himself to the gay hip-hop genre, he hopes to mainstream in to majority hip-hop as well.
