Eric Zero started when Rick Weissinger, from a band called Zero to 60, had the opportunity to play some dates in Iceland solo. It seemed like a good idea to get billed with a name that was easy to pronounce and related to his band's name, so "Eric Zero" was chosen. Then it seemed like a good name for the release of a bunch of solo recordings. Looking for something to do, Chris Sheldon, formerly go Nerd Parade, suggested they play some of the Eric Zero songs, and bassist Josey Reinhardt (ex-Nerd parade) and guitar whiz Jason Freeland jumped in as well. They recorded the four-song bundle "Red" in summer on 2012. Rick currently plays guitar in The Low Ready.
