Jeff Desira delivers hope and heartbreak with natural grace. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, he has had a diverse musical career before coming into his own as a singer-songwriter, crafting honest and endearing pop songs and ballads.
Desira’s new album, Weathervane, contains songs he wrote about his time in New York. It also includes “When I Let Go”, a piece recalling a life-changing accident in 2011 which rendered him unable to play guitar for four months. After a grueling recovery, in which he had to retrain his left hand, he returned to music in full force and began to record with producer Scott Mickelson.
In 2013, Desira performed a sold out show with his full band at the hidden gem, The Lost Church. He pulled out all the stops, showing his versatility with the ukulele and flute. More recently, at the Starry Plough in Berkeley, his six-piece band entertained yet another full house.
A stalwart of the San Francisco singer-songwriter scene, Jeff has bolstered the music community by reaching out to other artists through collaboration and booking events at venues such as Amnesia, Milk, 50 Mason Social House, and several others. Throughout the Bay Area and internationally, he is known not only as a talented musician, but as a steadfast friend.
Weathervane, Jeff Desira’s debut album as a solo artist, was released on July 19th at Amnesia in San Francisco, Ca to a full house and is available for purchase on his website at www.jeffdesira.com, and www.cdbaby.com/cd/jeffdesira. He is currently planning to tour and bring his songs from coast to coast--and beyond.
"We all know Jeff's songs are incredibly infectious but as I help produce his record I am finding a depth and character within his lyrics that keeps blindsiding me. These are songs I wish I'd written." - Scott Mickelson, musician, producer
"Memorable melodies that turn into hooks and a super honest delivery makes [Jeff the] complete package." - Jeff Campbell
"Jeff Desira is a songwriter I am going to be keeping my eye on - no doubt we all will. His star is on the rise here in the Bay Area."
