Isobel Trigger / Bio

“Isobel Trigger undoubtedly belongs in a large performance hall and deserves much recognition” – The Coastal Spectator

“Their original music leaves fans suspended with rapture between soft feminine loftiness and a resonance upsurge” – Vic42

“Some of the best of what this city has to offer in terms of music.”
– Jon Williams, The Zone 91.3 Modern Rock in Victoria

Isobel Trigger strikes you with their synth-driven style and high-energy performances. With exotic vocals, driving lead lines, and heart-thumping grooves, the band weaves a musical web that draws you to the dance floor. Isobel Trigger is about delicate innocence meeting howling distortion; soft in one moment then crashing into powerful crescendos the next. It’s little red riding hood and the big bad wolf all in one.

The band is Felicia Harding (vocals, synth), Brett Faulkner (guitar), Ariel Tseng (drums), and Ryan Salmond (bass). Each member takes command of their own elements and breathes life into each song.

Isobel Trigger spent 2014 playing various stages and summer festivals, including Rock The Royal, Tall Tree Music Festival, Smithers Midsummer Music Festival (headlining alongside The Pack A.D.), ReoFest, and Rifflandia. The band followed this with a successful EP release tour through Western Canada with Edmonton rock band REND.

Isobel Trigger’s EP, Nocturnal, was released in August 2014 via Cordova Bay Records. Produced by Ryan Worsley and Adam Sutherland, the EP features five original songs combining haunting vocals, dance beats and cosmic guitar riffs. The band’s sound has been described as, “indie dance rock,” “power pop,” and, “the soundtrack to an alien abduction.”

Lead single Dust and Bones was accompanied by a music video featuring creative CGI landscapes and led to the band being named ‘Band of the Month’ at The Zone 91.3 Modern Rock in April 2014. The song was ranked #42 on The Zone’s top songs of 2014 and was put in rotation at over 20 other radio stations across Canada. The band also released music videos for Tiger Shark and Champion in 2014, with a video for Carry On to be released in March 2015.

Monday Magazine featured Isobel Trigger as a band that is “exploding,” and “catch[ing] the eye of Victoria’s music scene makers.” With an unlimited supply of stage presence, the band will
be embarking on a national tour in April, leading up to their first Canadian Music Week showcase in May.
