Musician/Poet Kwame credits his musical upbringing to his "elders" and the general environment of his home base in Ghana, West Africa, where his roots first blossomed. "There was Fetish drumming, and dancing, and of course singing, the call was so strong that I found myself in a band after high school," says Kwame. .... The man sometimes called, African Roots Ambassador, is committed to roots and culture (funk like Bob, Peter and Burning Spear, etc.) the heartbeat riddims and the Rasta philosophy of universal love. .... Kwame has worked throughout the U.S. & Canada, there were some European and Caribbean opportunities as well. .... .... In June of 2000, Kwame released his debut CD "How Sweet it is" in Afrika, he return to the USA several months later and release it in the USA... The CD received the attention of Sikafuturo Production a Washington D.C. based production company which operates also in his home base Ghana. .... In 2004 Kwame released his second CD "O.A.U" in Afrika, this CD featured guest guitarist Junior Marvin of the Wailers, this could not have happen without the help and commitment of Sikafuturo Productions. .... .... Kwame began working with Gizzae (Chicago based) reggae band, was invited to the prestigious Montreal reggae Festival in 2005 that same year he also toured the USA west coast thru Canada with Tony Rebel and crew. Kwame was encourage to do more studio work after touring. He was fortunate to get a chance to work with the great Sidney Mills of Steel Pulse and George Koukakou who works with the Wailers and Alpha Blondy. .... Kwame released his third CD "Forward Ever" again first in Accra, Ghana July 2008 co-produce by George Kouakou and Vince Varco. One track from "Forward Ever" has been selected by Putumayo on their 2009 release "African Reggae" The track is "Steppin Into Zion". .... .... Kwame has been the recipient of many industry awards and honorable mention including: Martin International's Chicago Reggae Music Awards "Best Artist" and Most Culture-Oriented band". ....
