Steve Shankle At 22 years old has developed many aliases throughout his rap career¾ C.Springz, Springz, … ¾ however, there is one name he has yet to receive but destined to, Legendary Emcee
When Springz moved Back from Washington to California, the Artistic spirit of the Bay Area came to him in the form of Rap. Rapping was initially a hobby to Springz and his friends that he rapped with early in his career, but once they discovered their talents, they ran with it forming the rap trio “The Calvary”.
They were an instant Myspace.com hit with songs like ‘Can We Talk’ and ‘Crush’ in 2009.
As Springz developed his talents, he wrote more songs that only featured himself, truly branching out as a Hip-hop artist. Spending a great deal of his free time at the in-home-recording studio Cali Made Productions in West Oakland, Springz was able to write a complete mixtape (and then some).
His debut solo mixed-tape entitled Day Dreamin’ was released at the end of last year (2011). This work of art includes a variety songs that are a reflection of who Springz the Grinch really is. His music is nostalgic for anyone who can remember how Mos Def, The Roots, and Eric B & Rakim used to make you feel. As difficult as it may be to find a rapper less concerned with commerciality and more focused on conveying a message, we’ve managed to find one in Oakland, California at the Calimade studios.
