The Liar's Scene formed in the fall of 2010 when three former members of established band How About the Truth re~grouped after a year hiatus. Patrick Kelley, guitar, Bryant Bridges, guitar and vocals, and Ricky Sands, vocals, originally intended upon redeveloping the original material written with the old band and found themselves going in a different direction. After several failed attempts at nailing down a drummer they enlisted the help of longtime friend and current drummer of Kansas City based band Echoes From Airplanes, Daniel Heidtbrink. After just a few sessions it would be determined Dan is the drummer for the new project.
The chemistry was there, but there was still a piece missing to this puzzle. In order to take this project to a new level and a different direction they needed something different. Originally playing bass Ricky stepped up and proposed the idea of taking the role of vocalist to add a new twist to the new sound. After deliberation it was determined Ricky would sing lead vocals for the new band and were now in search of a bass player.
Eventually the band contacted long time friend John Kern to play bass for the new project. John was the obvious choice beings he had been a part of many musical projects with Dan in the past. Finally the official line up was full and the band was ready to start writing and developing.
The band started booking shows and working hard to promote their message. After just a short few months the band had progressed faster than expected. After releasing their first single titled "Closer" they gained air play on several internet radio stations across the nation such as Kansas City Local Artist Radio Show, SLAM Radio, and Outside the Dial. The band has performed for up to three thousand people on such prominet stages as The Power and Light Live Stage, The Beaumont Club, Crosstown Station, Uptown Theater, and many more.
Recently the band has inducted the likes of Fiesta Maiden AKA Trevin B a Kansas City local recording artist and musician to finalize that twist in the band's unique sound. Trevin adds the finishing touch on live stage show with on the spot live sample capturing, synthesizer, and lead and harmony vocals.
After a two year run with the band Daniel decided to leave the band to pursue other goals. Fortunately for the band they were contacted by a set of fresh eyes and Shea Black would be determined the band's new drummer.
The Liar's Scene is described as hard rock with a metal edge covering a variety of sub genres of mainatream to underground hard rock. They cover all scales of the spectrum from three part harmonies from Dan, Bryant, and Ricky to in your face blood curdling screams and heavy distorted riffs backed by hard hitting bass and drums. Their shows are full of energry and animation capturing the audience from beginning to end of their performance captivating the raw emotion each song entales. The band is currently working on recording their first full length album set to be released in the Spring of 2013.
