Dark Eyes 55 originated in Lockport NY in September of 2010. With just a couple of guys and a couple of guitars, the combination of talent and dreams developed into the modern rock band that Dark Eyes 55 is today. It's two founding members, Aaron Anson (guitar) and Anthony Kathke (bass) spent months trying to weave together the perfect combination of passion and sound. In 2010, when drummer Jim Anterline hopped aboard, the train started rolling. The powerful three piece played shows from Buffalo to Rochester, spreading their wings and their name. With a solid foundation and a massive repertoire, Dark Eyes found it time to place the final piece to the puzzle. Mid 2012 Drew Richter joined the trio and crafted a sound all his own. This line up provides a tight rhythym section layered with a very distinctive lead guitar and aggressive vocals covering every genre from hard rock to reggae. In October 2013, they won the Battle of the Bands in Rochester at the Firehouse Saloon. Also, along with the win, they acquired a new bassist, “Kung-Fu Chaz”, to their line-up. The band has opened for “Rik Emmett” at the Labatt Concert Series in August of 2013 and have played many credible venues such as The Waiting Room, Neitzche's, Buffalo Iron Works, DBGB's, Lewsiton Village Pub, Grand Island July 4th festival and many local bars/clubs. They are currently working on an album that is to be released in the summer of 2014.
