A world music artist, a true African ambassador and cultural reprisentative, Rotimi is a multi-talented musician and performing artist. He is an accomplished musicologist, performer, teacher and songwriter, who plays the trumpet, flugel horn, saxophone, keyboards and African drums to express his brand of world music which he has styled AFROPHONIK RHYTHMS. This Unique blend of Afrobeat and Folk music with serious indiginus content creates a totally new experience. He is currently working in the studio with his 10 piece band (D Afrophonik Rhythms Crew) together with his Philadelphia-based producer JOHN GLAUBITZ (of Roadkill Messiahs, Dante Bucci, and AlyCat), a talented music producer and master guitarist. Rotimi Hundeyin is a delight on stage with his band D Afriphonik Rhythms Crew.
CAREER- Rotimi started his musical career at a tender age. After graduating from college (University of Nigeria Nsukka) Rotimi began touring and teaching in Nigeria, while also freelancing as a horn player with various artists including Afro beat originator Fela Kutis son Femi Kuti and The Positive Force. He served as the musical Director for Arts and culture ministry in Lagos Nigeria (similar to New York city). As a member of Femi Kutis Positive Force band and horns player (1999-2008), Rotimi shared the stage with other Jazz and music legends such as Hugh Masekela, Roy Hagroove, Angeliqe Kidjo, Orlando Julius, Damon Alban (The Gorillas), Bill Cobams, Tony Allen, Erika Babu, Damian Marly, Lucky Dube and many more while touring the world. Rotimi resently was the musician on SOME THING WITH WINGS, a stage production put together by students from Temple university,directed by FILEPE VIGARA.
