Balcony was started in the fall of 2010 by Eastern Connecticut State University students Sam Kesler and Jon Waldstein. Jon's good friend and former band mate Holden Stern was soon added as the bands primary drummer.
Balcony's first public appearance was made on Friday May 13th at the Opus Bar and Grill located in Willimantic CT, featuring fellow ESCU student Alex Gotta on drums. The show was labeled a total success as it essentially transformed the local bar into a party scene packed with countless numbers of college students, friends and fans. The set list featured many original songs such as "Off to a Party" from the bands roughly-cut debut album "Spring Street Demo", as well as number of various covers. The band drew so much business in fact that from then on they would perform as the bars very own house-band. The infamous show coupled with their demo CD, have enabled the spread of the band's reputation as being hardcore party-ers set on bringing reggae-rock to a whole new level.
Balcony currently plays small gigs at local venues and house parties around Connecticut.
