Red Afternoon is a six piece band that has been quickly making their name known in Northeast Florida. Fronted by singers Terry Whitehead and Tamara Colonna Grigsby, the band performs an eclectic mix of covers and originals that are typically representative of Roots Rock and Americana. No need to get caught up in the labeling though as their repertoire is large and varied and the set list can be customized to suit different venues. One fan described Red Afternoon as "Picnic with your soul on a bright summer day by the river music."
Although Terry and Terry each have successful singer-songwriting backgrounds (www.tamaracolonna.com and www.terrywhiteheadmusic.com ) they discovered several years ago that their voices blend in a very unique way that yields striking, ear-catching harmonies. One fan wrote: “I thought you guys sounded great; such engaging, interesting songs with really nice grooves … and when you two start harmonizing, it's goose bumps time!!!” Now three part harmonies are featured often with guitarist Bill Gibson’s vocal added.
Because of the variety of talent the band can downsize (combo, trio, or duo) for smaller venues and budgets.
Their resume continues to grow quickly:
• Culhane’s Irish Pub in Atlantic Beach (on regular rotation).
“You guys really impressed us with your fan base...wow!! Great job. We definitely want you back once a month” – Mary Jane Culhane
- Mojo Kitchen BBQ Pit and Blues Bar (Jax Beach) - house band for the weekly series "The Armadillo Ball" in 2012.
• Riverside Arts Market (Jax, FL)
• Friday Night Music in The Courtyard (Neptune Beach)
• Nocatee (Ponte Vedra)
