Silk City is a multi-media concoction. Music, Television, Film, Comedy.
Connecticut-based alternative pop rock with a dash of indie and a sprinkle of soul. Rightfully hailed (by their mothers) as "The Greatest Rock Band on Earth", Silk City is a three-piece explosion of pop-rock power that puts the MAN in Manchester, CT. Formed in May 2010, the band consists of bassist Chris Hickey, lead guitarist Tyler Dickens, and drummer John Schauster, with all three performing vocals. The band is equally influenced by the vibrant melodies of Lennon and McCartney, the memorable hooks of Guided By Voices, the..erm..."cryptic" lyrics of Michael Stipe and Bob Dylan, and the tight pants of The Strokes. Their self-released debut "The Keith Berry LP" features such hits as the fast food tribute "Tacos", the jolly, completely nonsequitur "Fossil Book", and the darkly melodic "Holly".

“SILK CITY” is a show about coming back home… and remembering why you left. Tyler is fresh out of college, with no job and no ambition. He moves back in with his parents, much to the delight of his one-time friend Chris and the dismay of his ex-girlfriend, Lisa. Tyler soon starts a band with Chris and their friend John, hoping to impress Lisa – and avoid finding actual employment.
Directed, edited, and shot by Rob Leshin, “SILK CITY” is a contemporary comedy about small-town life in 21st century America. With material culled from the collective experiences of its stars and director, its pilot was shot on location in Manchester, CT over the summer of 2011.
