the Autumn Electric / Bio

Autumn Electric is a progressive rock band from Seattle, WA, formed by Michael Trew (Vocals/Flute/Guitar), and Naomi Smith (Keyboards/Vocals) in 2008. After some lineup changes and three albums, they broke into the progressive rock scene with 2014's "Flowers For Ambrosia" featuring the additional lineup of Max Steiner (Lead Guitar) Chris Barrios (Drums) and Johnny Unicorn (Bass/Vocals/Saxophone).

The 2015 follow up resulted in the album, "Star Being Earth Child". Inspired by a trip through the petroglyphs of New Mexico on their 2014 tour, Trew, Barrios and Steiner began collaborating on new songs that would become a full, album-length rock opera. Lovingly coined "Art Rock about Rock Art ", the album explores the mythology of Star Beings, the plight of Earth's environment, and spiritual awakening. Inspiration also led to the inclusion of Tom Paxton's "Whose Garden Was This?" a song penned for the first Earth Day in 1970. Most of the album was recorded in Seattle, while Steiner's guitar arrangements were added remotely from his new home in Germany.

Autumn Electric toured the show throughout the continental US this spring, making use of specialized lights, projections and costume with the aid of Neil Willson (effects) and touring guitarist Josh Williams. The show was filmed in Seattle on May 3rd and can be seen by searching Autumn Electric Star Being Earth Child on youtube.
