Vidalia is a music project that combines the individual talents of 3 separate artists (Ronnie Calhoun, Charlie Hugg, and Matt Tortorich) to create a powerful new blend of music that is hard to define. It’s a fresh new sound that has been described as a mix of Outlaw Country, Texas Red Dirt, Americana, and Rock n Roll. They named this project after the small town in Louisiana where Calhoun and Hugg grew up living the words to their songs. Ronnie Calhoun is a songwriter who was raised on the sounds of traditional country music. His songwriting heroes are Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Charlie Hugg is a polished singer who can also play several instruments. He has music in his blood, as his father was a traveling musician for many years. Matt Tortorich is from New Orleans, La and is widely respected as one of the best up and coming producers in the business. His versatility and experience from producing albums in several different genres has been a major influence on the unique sound the Vidalia project has found. Their recently released EP titled "Friday Night Heroes" reached #11 on the iTunes Country Music Album Chart and hit the #3 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers South Central Chart.
