Lonnie Spangler is a product of the fabled era of 8 track and vinyl. The son of a Singer/Guitar player, Lonnie’s childhood immersed him in the sounds of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, CCR, Bob Seger, and Steve Miller. Needless to say, he fell in love with soulful, classic songwriting at a very early age.
At age 14, he bought his first electric guitar with money made from under-the-table farm labor and never looked back. Inspired by a pantheon of guitar gods such as Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons of ZZ top and Eddie Van Halen, he began practicing religiously and a short year later he was gigging with the family band, playing in West Michigan’s small town bar scene.
After several years playing and singing in various hard rock acts, Lonnie had a transforming experience that pulled him to back to his blues/classic rock roots.
Invigorated by this new direction he began honing his sound as the front man for Brother Voodoo and the Groove Champions and guitarist for Shag Wagon Deluxe.
Lonnie is currently in the greater Lansing area. He has joined forces with bassist, Jesse Fuentes and they currently auditioning drummers.
